PRESENTATION OF RELICS OF POLISH MARTYRS OF PERU TO THE ARCHDIOCESE OF CASHEL & EMLY
On Sunday, April 21st at 1pm in the Church of St. Joseph & St. Brigid, Bohernanave, Thurles, relics of the Polish Martyrs of Peru will be presented to the Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly.
Fr. Michele Tomaszek and Fr. Zbigniew Strzalkowski, two Franciscan Friars ran a vibrant pastoral ministry in the town of Pariacoto, Peru. They laboured under continuous threat but continued their ministry to the poor. They were abducted by the “Shining Path” terrorist group in Peru and killed on August 9th 1991. They were beatified in Chimbote, Peru on Saturday December 5th, 2015. They have been declared the patrons of all who suffer from terrorism.
